A new political contender has stepped into the race for the Lagos State House of Assembly as Hon. Friday Ahadji-Williams, popularly known as Willyosha, formally declared his ambition to represent Badagry Constituency 01 in the 2027 elections, promising a people-driven approach to governance and tangible development across the constituency.
Addressing supporters and stakeholders during his declaration, Willyosha said his decision was not driven by personal ambition but by a strong sense of responsibility to serve and uplift the people of Badagry. He noted that after extensive consultations with political leaders, traditional rulers, and residents across communities, he is convinced that the time has come to offer purposeful representation.
“This is not about titles, it is about responsibility,” he said, stressing his readiness to bring meaningful change to the constituency.
Highlighting his academic and professional background, Willyosha explained that he possesses a blend of private and public sector experience, backed by solid educational qualifications. He holds degrees in Economics, Management, and Public Financial Management from the University of Lagos, which he believes position him to effectively navigate legislative responsibilities and deliver results.
The aspirant described himself as a pragmatic and youthful leader prepared to end what he called years of “trial and error” in representation. Drawing a parallel with national leadership, he expressed confidence that just as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is driving reforms at the federal level, Badagry too can witness transformation with the right leadership choices.
Willyosha emphasized that his campaign would focus on inclusive governance, pledging to work across party lines and engage critical stakeholders to ensure that laws reflect the real needs of the people rather than narrow interests.
He outlined key priorities including youth empowerment, women inclusion, job creation, improved education, and better healthcare delivery. According to him, legislation must go beyond lawmaking to ensure accountability, transparency, and measurable impact in people’s lives.
The aspirant also promised to strengthen oversight functions by closely monitoring budgets, projects, and implementation processes to ensure that government promises translate into visible development.
In a bid to promote participatory governance, he assured constituents of regular town hall meetings and open communication channels, noting that leadership must remain accessible and responsive to the people at all times.
“Leadership should heal, not divide. It should listen before it speaks and serve even when no one is watching,” he said.
Willyosha concluded his declaration with a call for support, assuring residents that he is ready to serve with humility, integrity, and dedication.
“This is not just an announcement, it is a commitment. Badagry Constituency 01, let the work begin,” he declared.
