Deputy Chief Whip of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable Engr. Setonji David, has called on residents of Badagry Constituency 2 and Lagosians at large to take full advantage of the upcoming Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which begins nationwide on Monday, August 18, 2025.
In a public notice issued through his spokesperson, Mr. Posu Davies, the lawmaker encouraged constituents to plan and schedule themselves ahead of time to ensure they do not miss the opportunity to obtain or update their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2025–2026 electoral cycle.
“Dear constituents, your PVC is your voice! Do not be left out,” Hon. Setonji stressed. “Whether you are a first-time voter, someone who has misplaced their card, or have relocated to a new polling area, this is your chance to register, replace, or transfer your details at the nearest INEC office or designated registration centre.”
He also reminded residents that those who lost their PVCs due to unforeseen circumstances—such as fire outbreaks or other natural incidents—can apply for a replacement during the exercise. Similarly, individuals who have changed their place of residence are encouraged to process a transfer to their new locations.
The legislator further appealed for early preparation to avoid last-minute rushes that often characterise voter registration exercises.
The INEC CVR initiative aims to expand voter access and participation ahead of the next general elections, reinforcing the democratic principle that every eligible citizen’s voice should be heard through the ballot box.
