As the countdown to the July 12 local government elections in Lagos State intensifies, the Progressive Youth Frontiers (PYF), Badagry Chapter, has issued a passionate call to action, urging residents of Badagry to rally behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates across the three council areas—Badagry Central, Badagry West, and Olorunda LCDA.
In a statement signed by the group’s coordinator, Comrade Mayowa Adebajo, the youth-led organisation said the time has come for the people of Badagry to take ownership of their future by voting for credible leadership under the APC.
"This is more than just an election; it’s about the future of Badagry," Adebajo declared. "A future where youth development, better roads, functional healthcare, quality education, and economic opportunities are no longer campaign promises, but everyday realities."
Calling on all party loyalists, supporters, and the wider Badagry community, PYF emphasized the importance of grassroots mobilisation in delivering a sweeping victory for the APC. The group encouraged residents to bring out their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), mobilise friends and neighbours, and ensure a strong showing at the polls.
"We must show up in numbers and prove that Badagry stands united for progress," the statement read. "Let history remember us as the generation that stood firm and delivered our land to good governance."
PYF, a grassroots-oriented youth platform within the APC, has been actively engaging young people in political participation across Lagos. The group expressed confidence in the party’s candidates, describing them as “tested and trusted leaders” capable of driving real development across the local councils.
"Let us vote APC. Let us grow Badagry," the message concluded.
The July 12 election is expected to be a pivotal moment for local governance in Lagos, and political activity in Badagry is heating up as the date approaches.
