Mallam Ndace, who was warmly received by the Acting Director-General of ASCON, Mr. B. O. Eniaiyejuni, described the visit as a vital step towards strengthening inter-agency collaboration to drive development narratives and enhance citizen participation in governance.
Speaking during the courtesy visit, the VON boss emphasized the critical role of communication in public service delivery and policy implementation. “We believe that when institutions like VON and ASCON work together, we can foster a culture of transparency, efficiency, and responsiveness that truly benefits the Nigerian people,” Ndace stated.
The meeting provided a platform for both agencies to discuss joint initiatives such as capacity building programs, media literacy workshops for public servants, and innovative ways to bridge the communication gap between government institutions and citizens.
In his remarks, Mr. Eniaiyejuni expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed ASCON’s commitment to partnerships that align with its mission of enhancing the capacity of the Nigerian public service. “We are delighted to welcome the VON team. This collaboration has the potential to positively impact public sector performance and promote shared understanding of government policies,” he said.
The engagement ended on a promising note, with both parties expressing optimism about future collaborations and the mutual benefits such synergy would bring to national development efforts.
The VON delegation also toured ASCON’s facilities and held brief strategy sessions with senior management staff, laying the groundwork for actionable next steps.
