Senator Ned Nwoko has once again set social media buzzing after declaring that he “pities men with just one wife,” insisting that polygamy brings men more “stability and balance.”
The Delta North senator made the comment during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Sunday, October 26. The lawmaker, who is currently facing public scrutiny over his troubled marriage with actress Regina Daniels, was asked how he manages to handle four wives, something many men consider nearly impossible.
With a smile, he responded, “That’s another discussion for another day. But yes, every man should do that. Imagine trying to stand on one leg, it’s hard. But when you stand on two, three, or four, you’re more balanced. That’s how I see it. I actually feel sorry for those who have just one wife because it’s like standing on one leg.”
When the interviewer pointed out that the Bible discourages polygamy, Nwoko countered, “The Old Testament supports it. I’m a man of faith, but that’s not the focus today.”
Asked if he had any regrets about his marital choices, he replied firmly, “None at all. I’d do the same thing again. Every man should be free to marry who he wants.”
The senator also dismissed recent allegations of domestic violence made against him by Regina Daniels, who recently posted emotional messages hinting at abuse.
“Come on, you know I’m not a violent man,” Nwoko said. “I respect and love my wives and children. Violence has no place in my home.”
His remarks came just hours after Regina Daniels unveiled a new mansion on Instagram, sparking speculation about a separation. The Nollywood star shared photos and videos of her new home with the caption: “In my house, I am a Queen! I needed a roof over my head, so I got this for me and my family.”
Her post followed a viral video from October 18, where she appeared tearful outside her Abuja residence, saying she could no longer endure alleged domestic abuse.
“In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing. But in my own house, I am a Queen. I can’t stand the violence, it’s too much,” she said in the clip.
The couple’s six-year marriage — once one of the most talked-about unions in Nollywood due to their wide age gap, now appears to be going through a difficult phase, with both parties publicly airing their sides of the story.
