The Badagry Women Development Forum is set to bring together women from across Badagry Division at a special Women Garden Party organised to commemorate the 2026 International Women’s Day celebration.
The event, which is scheduled to hold tomorrow, March 2, at Topa Guest House, is expected to attract women from different walks of life across Badagry Local Government, Olorunda Local Council Development Area and Badagry West LCDA.
The Founder and Host of the event, Mrs. Sewede Pot-Balogun Olorunfemi, in a message to Badagry Today described the programme as a platform designed not only for celebration and relaxation, but also to strengthen unity among women in the division, encourage networking and provide support for those in need.
A major highlight of the gathering will be the empowerment of indigent women drawn from the three councils in Badagry Division. The beneficiaries are expected to receive various forms of support aimed at improving their welfare and helping them become more self-reliant.
This year’s celebration is themed, “Redirecting Women Focus: Give to Gain,” a theme the organisers say reflects the need for women to embrace selflessness, support one another and build stronger communities through collective growth.
Several prominent women in Lagos State are expected to grace the occasion. Among them are the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University of Education, Prof. Bilkis Bidemi Lafiaji-Okuneye, Comrade Chief Agnes Funmi Sessi-Akinsanmi and Hon. Abimbola Idowu Rasulu, Commissioner in the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission.
Also expected at the event are the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, Chief Mrs. Oluwatoyin Hunpe, wife of the Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Mrs. Folashade Ajose Kumayon, wife of the Executive Chairman of Olorunda LCDA, and Mrs. Morenikeji Marian Ibrahim, wife of the Executive Chairman of Badagry West LCDA.
The forum said the event is expected to further deepen women’s participation in community development while creating an atmosphere of joy, solidarity and empowerment among women in Badagry Division.
