The two able-bodied men, Benjamin James Akpama and Eyong Ubi Okoi, are suspected thieves who were allegedly caught stealing fish and electric cables in Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State at different locations.

They were allegedly caught in the early hours of Tuesday, July 22, 2025, by members of a vigilante group in the Ijiman and Okurubong communities.

While Akpama, who hails from Nko, was caught stealing electric wires, Okoi, from Idomi, was caught stealing fish from a pond.

Members of the Ijiman-Okurubong vigilante group said the suspects will be handed over to the Ugep Police for further investigation and possible prosecution.
