President Bola Tinubu has publicly declared that he has forgiven Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, bringing an end to weeks of speculation about a rift between the two leaders.
“It’s all over now. All is forgiven,” Tinubu reportedly said on Sunday, following a private meeting with members of the Lagos State Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), who had come to plead on behalf of the governor and others said to have fallen out of favour.
Badagry Today earlier reported that, the GAC delegation, led by its chairman, Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi, met the president in Lagos and used the opportunity to appeal for peace. Olusi acknowledged that Tinubu had been displeased with certain individuals in the state, particularly Governor Sanwo-Olu, and urged him to let go of any lingering grievances.
Sources familiar with the meeting said the president reassured those present that he bore no ill will towards anyone, with Sanwo-Olu specifically mentioned as being forgiven. Though the exact cause of the disagreement was not discussed during the meeting, the focus remained squarely on reconciliation and moving forward.
