The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Badagry Local Government has officially appointed Lagos State Civil Service Commissioner II, Hon. Yahaya Lateef — popularly known as “WAY”, as the Director-General of the party’s campaign council for Hon. Babatunde Athande Hunpe, the APC Chairmanship candidate.
The announcement was made during the formal inauguration of the campaign council at the party’s secretariat in Badagry today, Thursday, June 19th, 2025. The event drew party stalwarts, loyalists, and stakeholders, as the APC gears up for what is expected to be a decisive July 12th poll.
Hon. Yahaya Lateef, a respected political strategist with deep grassroots connection in Badagry, accepted the role with a passionate charge to the council members. He urged them to hit the ground running and leave no stone unturned in delivering victory not only for Hunpe but also for all APC councillorship candidates across the ten wards in the Local Government.
“This is not just about one man’s ambition — it is about continuity, progress, and ensuring that APC continues to deliver purposeful governance to the people of Badagry,” Yahaya said. “We must all work together, day and night, door to door, street to street, to ensure that victory is ours on July 12.”
The new Director-General also revealed that similar campaign teams have been appointed across all ten wards in Badagry, noting that the ward structures will serve as the backbone of the grassroots mobilisation strategy.
He announced that the newly inaugurated campaign council would hold its first strategic meeting immediately, signalling the start of what he described as “a full-throttle campaign season.”
Mr. Charles Krape, the APC LGA Secretary party in Badagry, hailed the appointment of Yahaya Lateef as a significant step towards galvanizing support across all voting blocs in the council area. “Hon. Lateef is a seasoned mobilizer who understands the terrain and the people. His leadership will give our campaign the energy and coordination it needs,” Gafar said.
As the July 12 election draws closer, the APC is clearly putting its best foot forward to secure victory at the grassroots — with seasoned hands like Hon. Yahaya Lateef now at the helm of campaign affairs.
