Badagry Radio Shifts BCSA and Gala Night to October

Badagry Radio has officially announced October as the new month for its annual Badagry Community Service Awards (BCSA) and Gala Night celebrations, In a strategic move aimed at improving participation and honouring its roots.

The station made the announcement in a statement signed by its management on Saturday, revealing that while the 2024 edition was successfully hosted in December, all future editions will now take place in October. The decision, the management explained, is both symbolic and practical.

“October holds a special place in the history of Badagry Radio, being the month we were officially unveiled to the public,” the statement read. “By aligning our biggest annual event with this landmark, we reinforce our identity and celebrate our journey alongside the community.”

Beyond the sentimental value, the shift also addresses the logistical challenges of hosting such a major event during the busy December period, often crowded with end-of-year festivities. The new timing is expected to enhance attendance, planning, and overall event experience.

Preparations for the 2025 edition of BCSA and the Gala Night are scheduled to begin by the end of July. Organisers are promising an elevated celebration that will spotlight individuals and organisations making meaningful contributions to the Badagry community.

Now in its growing years, the BCSA has become a highly anticipated event in the local calendar, serving not only as a recognition platform but also as an inspiration for excellence across sectors including education, health, entrepreneurship, governance, and social impact.

Badagry Radio reaffirmed its commitment to community development, saying the BCSA remains a vital tool in encouraging citizens who work selflessly for the betterment of society.
