In a heartfelt message released to the media, Whenu expressed gratitude to his supporters, campaign team, party leaders, and youth who stood by him throughout his 18-month campaign journey. He praised their dedication, especially their prayers and fasting, which he described as a vital pillar of strength during the process.
"Now that our great party, the All Progressives Congress, has officially released its list of candidates, I want to sincerely thank everyone who believed in our vision," Whenu said. "Your support, steadfastness, and sacrifices will never be forgotten."
Calling for unity within the party, Whenu urged all APC leaders and stakeholders in Badagry to rally behind the declared candidate, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe. He emphasized the importance of party supremacy and working together for the common good.
"This is a follow-up to my congratulatory phone call to our incoming Executive Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe," he noted. "As a true democrat and loyal party man, my ambition has always been to build, not to destroy."
Whenu concluded his statement by wishing Hunpe a successful tenure that will bring greater development and progress to Badagry.
“Once again, congratulations to Hon. Babatunde Hunpe. May your leadership usher in a new era of growth for Badagry Local Government.”
The APC in Lagos State is gearing up for the July 12 local government elections, and the endorsement from Seyive, a prominent grassroots mobilizer in Badagry, is seen as a strong signal of internal cohesion within the party.
