The Federal Character Commission (FCC) has warned Nigerians about the circulation of fake Facebook and WhatsApp accounts falsely linked to its Acting Executive Chairman, Hon. Kayode Oladele.
In a statement signed by its Director of Public Affairs and Communication, Mr. Chizea C.C., the Commission explained that fraudsters are using Oladele’s photo to send friend requests and trick unsuspecting people.
The impostors are reportedly claiming that Oladele is offering job opportunities and political appointments. The Commission, however, made it clear that the Acting Chairman does not operate any social media account for recruitment, employment, or political purposes.
The FCC advised members of the public to ignore, block, and report such accounts, stressing that anyone who has already engaged with them should cut off contact immediately to avoid being scammed.
It assured Nigerians that it remains committed to protecting its reputation and shielding the public from fraudulent schemes.
