The Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB) has announced that Lagos State will host the 27th Quarterly Meeting of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Management with Executive Chairmen of State Universal Basic Education Boards (SUBEBs).
The meeting, scheduled to hold from Monday, 25th to Tuesday, 26th August, 2025 at Ikeja, Lagos, will bring together key stakeholders in the basic education sector across the federation.
With the theme: “Bridging the Gap Between Planning and Performance Towards Achieving Quality Basic Education”, the two-day engagement will focus on strategies to ensure that policies and plans in the sector will translate into tangible results in teaching and learning outcomes.
The meeting will also seek to align mechanisms for effective reporting and tracking of basic education for evidence-informed decision-making and accountability.
The Executive Chairman of LASUBEB, Dr. Hakeem Shittu, described the hosting of the meeting in Lagos as an honour and a demonstration of UBEC’s confidence in the state’s commitment to quality basic education. He noted that Lagos remains dedicated to providing free, inclusive, equitable, and innovative education for every child regardless of background or status.
“LASUBEB looks forward to welcoming all participants and ensuring a successful and impactful meeting”, he said.
