Badagry-born youth leader, Pascal Viweavo Ajande, has emerged among the outstanding performers at the recently concluded international study programme held at Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
Ajande was part of a select group of IBILE Youth Ambassadors from Lagos State who embarked on the transformative tour, facilitated by the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development under the leadership of Commissioner Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende.
The week-long engagement, which culminated in a graduation ceremony on Friday, July 18, 2025, exposed participants to world-class research, innovation, and leadership development opportunities.
In a message to Badagry Today, Ajande expressed his excitement at the honour of being named one of the best-performing participants of the programme.
“I’m overjoyed to see that I’m among the few who excelled with outstanding results from Queen’s University after three months of rigorous studying and research. This achievement motivates me to strive for even greater heights. I’m grateful to the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development for the opportunity and to Hon. Commissioner Mobolaji Ogunlende Abubakre for the recommendation. This recognition is a feather in our cap for Badagry Federation. To all the youth out there, my advice is to stay focused and committed to your pursuits, regardless of your environment. Don’t let your surroundings hold you back,” Ajande stated.
His recognition has been described as not just a personal triumph but also a proud moment for the Badagry Federation, further highlighting the capacity of young leaders from the region to thrive on the global stage.
Observers say the international tour has reinforced the Lagos State government’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders through exposure, mentorship, and global opportunities.
