Hon. Bonu Solomon Saanu, the lawmaker representing Badagry Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has emerged as the highest-rated first term legislator and seventh overall among the 40 members of the Assembly, according to the latest 1000 days in office ranking released by Lagos Reporters.
The ranking, published as part of the platform’s ongoing assessment of elected political office holders in Lagos State, evaluated the performance of all members of the House midway into their tenure. Lagos Reporters has built a reputation for consistently reviewing and ranking public office holders across the state based on defined performance indicators.
In the overall standings, Hon. Silvester Ogunkelu, a second term legislator representing Epe Constituency II, clinched the top spot. He was followed by Adedeji Temitope of Ifako-Ijaiye I. The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa of Agege I, came third, while the Deputy Speaker, Mojisola Meranda of Apapa I, secured the fourth position.
Hon. Yishawu Olusegun of Eti-Osa II and Olumoh Lukman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun I ranked fifth and sixth respectively. Hon. Bonu Solomon Saanu, representing Badagry Constituency I, stood out as the first non-ranking member to break into the top tier, placing seventh overall and leading all first term lawmakers on the list.
Political observers say Bonu’s placement is significant, especially in a House where ranking members often dominate performance charts due to experience and strategic committee positions. His emergence among the top ten is being widely interpreted as a reflection of his legislative contributions, constituency engagement and visibility within his district.
In Badagry, the news has been received with excitement, particularly among youths who have openly expressed support for his return to the Assembly in 2027. Many residents credit his performance and accessibility for the growing calls urging him to seek a second term.
As conversations around the 2027 elections gradually gather momentum, Bonu’s strong showing in the Lagos Reporters’ 1000 days scorecard is expected to further boost his political standing in Badagry Constituency I and beyond.
