Badagry West LCDA Announces Burial Arrangements for Late Vice Chairman, Princess Remilekun Nutayi

The people of Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have been thrown into mourning following the passing of the Vice Chairman, Princess Remilekun Nutayi, who died on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the age of 46.

In an official statement signed by the Council’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Solomon Zosu, the council described her death as a painful loss, noting that she was more than just a political leader but also a teacher, a mother, and a mentor to many in the community.

According to the burial arrangements released, a wake keep will hold on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Open Space, Palace of the Alapa of Apa Kingdom, by 4:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow on Friday, September 26, 2025, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Apa, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The Executive Chairman of Badagry West LCDA, Hon. Rauf Ibrahim Kayode Yemaren (popularly known as RIKAY), assured that the council will stand firmly with the Nutayi family during the funeral rites as a mark of honour for Princess Nutayi’s contributions to the growth and development of Badagry West.

Princess Nutayi’s sudden demise has left a vacuum in both the political and social landscape of the LCDA. Tributes have continued to pour in from colleagues, community leaders, and residents who describe her as a selfless leader dedicated to the progress of Badagry.

The council, on behalf of the people, extended its condolences to the Nutayi family, the people of Apa Kingdom, and all residents of Badagry West, praying for the peaceful repose of her soul.
