In a bold move to empower young people in Badagry with relevant 21st-century skills, a free digital training programme tagged “Tech For Youth” has been unveiled. The initiative is being spearheaded by Jacob Waniyon, the Member representing Badagry Constituency I at the Lagos State Youth Parliament, in collaboration with Badagry Loaded and Tech Now Global.

The one-month intensive training, scheduled to run from August 21 to September 19, 2025, will take place at Adcosy School, Apa, Badagry West LCDA. It is specially designed for teenagers and young adults seeking to gain hands-on knowledge in various digital and professional skill areas.

According to the organisers, participants will receive training in critical areas such as:

• Web Development

• Graphics Design

• Desktop Publishing

• General Computer Knowledge

• Artificial Intelligence (AI) Management

• Time Management

• Public Speaking

Speaking about the vision behind the programme, Jacob Waniyon, the Lagos State Youth Parliament representative noted that “the future belongs to those who are prepared, and this training will provide young people in Badagry with the tools to compete locally and globally.”

The project partners emphasised that the training is not only about digital literacy but also about personal development and leadership, hence the inclusion of modules such as time management and public speaking.
