The Lagos State Local Government Chairmen Forum of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a strong disclaimer, distancing itself from an earlier report by Badagry Today that suggested Prince Olalekan Bada had emerged as the party's State Chairman. The Forum clarified that the meeting with former Governor Rauf Aregbesola was misrepresented by Badagry Today.
In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Lagos ADC LGA Chairmen Forum, Deputy Primate Adewole Ijaogbomo, the Forum stated unequivocally that at no point during the meeting did Prince Olalekan Bada emerge as the Lagos State ADC Chairman, as claimed in the said publication.
“The meeting was solely convened to discuss the state of affairs of the ADC in Lagos State with the National Secretary. It had nothing to do with the emergence or appointment of a new State Chairman,” the statement read.
Describing the report as "the work of a fifth columnist bent on causing chaos and misrepresenting facts," the Forum emphasized that all attendees at the meeting were duly elected LGA Chairmen of the party, and that Ogbeni Aregbesola merely received them in his capacity as National Secretary.
“We, the LGA Chairmen, disassociate ourselves from the write-up by Dansu,” the statement declared, while issuing a stern warning to Badagry Today to retract the report.
While our earlier report was based on a Facebook post by Prince Ijaogbomo, in which he referred to Olalekan Bada as the "acting" State Chairman, Badagry Today hereby retracts the report, in line with the Forum’s official position and demand for correction.
