Nigeria Police Academy Opens Admission for 12th Regular Course — Here’s What You Need to Know

The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State has officially announced the sale of application forms for its 12th Regular Course Degree Programme, starting Monday, July 28 to Sunday, September 8, 2025.

This admission exercise is open to qualified Nigerians who aspire to pursue a university degree and also build a career in the Nigeria Police Force.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be Nigerian by birth and have a valid National Identity Number (NIN).

  • Have sat for the 2025 JAMB and scored at least 180 marks, with the Police Academy selected as first choice.

  • Possess at least six (6) credits in WAEC/NECO (or its equivalent) including English and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.

  • Be between 16 and 21 years old by October 31, 2025.

  • Be physically, mentally, and medically fit.

  • Meet the minimum height requirement: 1.67m for males and 1.64m for females.

  • For male applicants, have at least 86cm (34 inches) chest measurement.

  • Not be married or pregnant.

  • Have a valid email address and phone number.

  • Present only certificates from 2021 or later—older results will not be accepted.

How to Apply

Applicants should:

  1. Visit the official website to generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code.

  2. Pay a non-refundable fee of ₦6,000, which includes the ₦2,000 for Post-UTME, at any commercial bank.

  3. Fill the online form and upload required documents, including:

    • SSCE result

    • Birth certificate

    • Certificate of origin

  4. Print the completed application and guarantor forms and bring them along for the aptitude test at the Academy.

Screening Process

Qualified applicants will go through a Computer-Based Aptitude Test at the Nigeria Police Academy ICT Centre. Those who pass will be invited for:

  • Automated Physical Screening – where original documents will be verified, including:

    • Educational certificates

    • Birth certificate

    • Evidence of good character

    • Indigene certificate

    • Guarantor form (from a qualified official, such as a senior public servant or police officer)

  • Automated Medical Screening

  • Final Interview and Selection Exercise

Shortlisted applicants will receive notifications via email and SMS.

Available Courses

The Academy offers degree programmes in three major faculties:

1. Faculty of Humanities

  • English, History, Linguistics, Education, Psychology, and more.

2. Faculty of Science

  • Biochemistry, Computer Science, Forensic Science, Mathematics, Physics, etc.

3. Faculty of Social & Management Sciences

  • Accounting, Economics, Political Science, Criminology, Sociology, etc.

Duration & Career Outcome

Successful applicants will undergo a five-year training combining academic work and police training. Upon graduation, they will earn a Bachelor’s Degree and be commissioned as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP II) in the Nigeria Police Force.
