Meet Lagos' Youngest Council Chairman: Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, a Trailblazer at 35

In a remarkable story of youth, leadership, and dedication, 35-year-old Motunrayo Adijat Gbadebo-Alogba has once again made history as she begins her second term as the Executive Chairman of Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

Motunrayo isn't just any council boss — she holds the unique title of being the youngest among the 57 council chairmen in Lagos State. And she’s not new to leadership. In fact, she became Chairman for the first time at just 31 years old, making her a symbol of youthful strength and bold political ambition.

Sworn in again on Sunday, Motunrayo continues to serve not only her immediate community but also the larger body of council leaders across the state, where she holds the position of Welfare Officer for the Conference 57 — the umbrella body for all council chairmen in Lagos.

Over the years, her journey has inspired many, especially young women across the state who see in her a living example that age is not a barrier when passion, vision, and hard work are in place. Her leadership style has been described as people-centered, energetic, and focused, with a strong drive for grassroots development.

As she settles into her second term, expectations are high, but so is the confidence the people of Ijede have in her. With a proven record from her first term, residents are optimistic that she will continue to deliver projects that touch lives and improve the wellbeing of her community.

From humble beginnings to becoming one of Lagos’ youngest and most vibrant political leaders, Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba is not just making history — she’s shaping the future.
