Lagos LG Polls: APC Holds Badagry Division Mega Rally Monday, June 30

As momentum builds toward the forthcoming Local Government elections in Lagos State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to hold a grand Badagry Division Mega Rally on Monday, June 30th, 2025. The event, which aims to energize the grassroots and present the party’s flag bearers, will bring together leaders, loyalists, and thousands of supporters from across four local governments and six Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the division.

The rally will take place at the expansive Ashiribo Open Field, located beside Federal Government College, Ijanikin, along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway—a location strategically chosen for its accessibility and symbolic resonance in Badagry politics.

The high-stakes event will feature the official presentation and public endorsement of the APC’s candidates contesting in the upcoming LG polls across the division. The candidates include:

  • Hon. Babatunde Athande Hunpe – Badagry Local Government

  • Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon – Olorunda LCDA

  • Hon. Rauf Kayode Yemaren – Badagry West LCDA

  • Hon. Akindipe Olalekan Olú – Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government

  • Hon. Olufemi Okeowo – Ifelodun LCDA

  • Hon. Prince Lanre Sanusi – Amuwo-Odofin Local Government

  • Hon. Rasaq Olojede – Oriade LCDA

  • Hon. Muibat Rufia – Ojo Local Government

  • Hon. Isa Jubril – Iba LCDA

  • Hon. Azees Kareem – Otto-Awori LCDA

Monday’s rally is expected to witness a strong show of force from the APC's political machinery in Lagos. In attendance will be traditional rulers, chieftains of the party at the state and local levels, key stakeholders in the region, as well as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who is expected to lead a powerful state delegation in support of the candidates.

According to party sources, the rally is more than a campaign stop—it is a declaration of the party’s unity and strength across Badagry Division, sending a clear message of readiness ahead of the local government elections.

APC’s State Campaign Councils have urged members and residents to come out in large numbers to show support, promising that the event will reflect the spirit of inclusiveness, continuity, and development that the party stands for.

With growing anticipation across the division, Monday’s rally is poised to be a defining moment in the build-up to the LG elections, reinforcing APC’s grassroots dominance and setting the tone for what party insiders call a “clean sweep” at the polls.
