It was a day of pride, emotions, and celebration in Badagry as Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship Candidate for Olorunda LCDA, marked his 60th birthday and formally retired from active public service, yesterday, 30th of May, 2025.
The event, which drew political stakeholders, community leaders, friends, and family, was more than a birthday celebration—it was a moment to honour a man whose life has been defined by quiet strength, unwavering dedication, and a legacy of service.
Kumayon, an accomplished Applied Physicist and former Vice Chairman of Badagry Local Government, is widely respected for his decades-long contributions to grassroots governance. Over the years, he has served on several strategic committees and development platforms, leaving behind a trail of impactful leadership and community-focused achievements.
As he now turns the page to a new chapter—offering himself to serve as Chairman of Olorunda LCDA—tributes have continued to pour in, applauding his loyalty, humility, and commitment to the people.
“Your legacy of purposeful leadership speaks for itself,” one of the speakers at the event noted, capturing the sentiment echoed by many who have worked with or benefited from Kumayon’s leadership.
Known for his calm disposition and results-driven approach, Hon. Kumayon remains a beacon of integrity in the political landscape of Badagry and beyond.
As he steps forward with renewed energy and vision for Olorunda LCDA, residents and supporters are optimistic about the future. The celebration served as a reminder that while he may be retiring from formal service, his journey in public leadership is far from over.
Here’s to Hon. Ajose Kumayon—a life of service well rendered, and a future filled with even greater promise.
