The incumbent Vice Chairman of Badagry West Local Council Development Area, Hon. Ibrahim Rauf Yemaren, popularly known as RIKAY, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming local council elections.
RIKAY secured a total of 19 votes during the keenly contested primary election held today at the APC state secretariat in Ikeja, Lagos. The party’s election committee officially declared him the winner, drawing cheers and celebration from his supporters who had turned out in anticipation.
Known for his grassroots appeal and steady political rise, RIKAY’s victory is seen by many within the party as a reward for his loyalty, experience, and performance during his tenure as vice chairman.
Party sources described the primary as peaceful and transparent, with all stakeholders commending the orderly conduct of the exercise. The outcome now positions RIKAY as the APC’s flagbearer in Badagry West LCDA ahead of the general council polls.
