The Chief Whip of the Lagos State House of Assembly and member representing Badagry Constituency 2, Honourable Engr. Setonji David, has once again drawn attention to the deplorable state of roads in Badagry Constituency 2, urging Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to swiftly intervene and prioritise their construction.
Honourable Setonji David made the plea in his goodwill message to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, during the governor’s road commissioning visit to Badagry yesterday. The governor had come to commission several roads totaling 19.1 kilometers.
In his heartfelt message of appreciation during the commissioning of roads in Mosafejo, Aradagun, Imeke, General Hospital Road, and others, Hon. Setonji seized the opportunity to re-emphasize the urgent need for attention to specific roads that remain in deplorable condition. Among those he highlighted were the Yafin, Morogbo Township, and Mowo-Ikoga road corridors—routes described by residents as critical for economic activities and daily commuting.
“Believe you me,” Setonji stated via his media aide Posu Davies, “the roads not equally mentioned in the public report have already been documented and officially submitted to Mr. Governor for his attention.”
While expressing gratitude for Governor Sanwo-Olu’s existing interventions, Hon. Setonji appealed for an extension of the infrastructure drive to these neglected but strategic communities, describing the move as crucial for easing transportation and improving the quality of life for his constituents.
The lawmaker’s appeal came during a period of renewed optimism in Badagry, following the commissioning of the long-awaited Badagry Network of Roads by the state government. Setonji’s message served as both a commendation and a call-to-action—a blend of appreciation and advocacy for inclusive development.
A video of his full remarks is currently circulating online, sparking conversations among residents and stakeholders about the next phase of road construction projects in the area.
