Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon RESHAPE AGENDA

Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship Candidate for Olorunda LCDA, has officially unveiled his development blueprint titled RESHAPE: The Manifesto to Reshape Olorunda, setting forth a bold vision for inclusive governance and grassroots transformation.

A proud indigene of Sakoto Compound in Mowo, Hon. Ajose brings to the race more than just political ambition—he offers a legacy of service, integrity, and technical competence shaped by over two decades in public service. With a professional background that spans environmental management, science, and information and communications technology, he has cultivated a deep understanding of the real issues confronting Olorunda’s people.

His campaign message is both simple and powerful: to make government work for everyone by addressing basic needs, investing in people, and promoting fairness in governance. Hon. Ajose envisions a community where roads are motorable, schools are functional, healthcare is accessible, and opportunities are available to all, regardless of background.

At the heart of his campaign is the RESHAPE agenda—an acronym representing seven core pillars for development: Rural development, Education advancement, Staff welfare, Healthcare improvement, Agricultural growth, Physical environmental sanitation and water supply, and Empowerment for youths and women.

In rural development, Hon. Ajose promises to reimagine Olorunda’s hinterlands as thriving economic hubs. He intends to upgrade rural roads to ease mobility, collaborate with traditional institutions and community associations on needs-driven infrastructure, and set up local development councils that ensure projects are transparent and inclusive. His approach is one where no ward is left behind, and every voice contributes to the LCDA’s growth.

For education, he plans to tackle both access and quality. His manifesto includes initiatives like subsidized school buses, rehabilitation of dilapidated school buildings, and the provision of free learning materials for primary pupils. He also emphasizes adult literacy, digital learning, and scholarships for deserving students. Parent-Teacher Associations will be empowered to play a greater role in shaping the academic environment.

Hon. Ajose also pledges to improve staff welfare, recognizing that a motivated workforce is essential for effective governance. He promises timely salary payments, regular training for local government staff, and the introduction of modern tools to enhance productivity. A revolving loan scheme will be introduced to provide financial relief during emergencies, alongside a renewed commitment to a workplace culture of service and innovation.

Healthcare is another cornerstone of his manifesto. He plans to upgrade existing Primary Health Centres (PHCs), establish new ones in underserved and riverine communities, and ensure the steady supply of essential drugs. In partnership with the Ilera Eko health initiative, his administration will offer free healthcare to children, the elderly, and pregnant women, ensuring that no resident is left without access to vital services.

On agriculture, Hon. Ajose seeks to shift the mindset from subsistence to profitability. His government will provide farmers with mechanized tools through cooperative societies and facilitate funding through NGOs. He also proposes distributing 2,500 coconut seedlings annually to encourage home farming and strengthen the local processing industry. Annual agricultural fairs will promote innovation and knowledge-sharing, while investments in food storage will reduce waste and strengthen the value chain.

For environmental sanitation and water supply, Hon. Ajose outlines plans to construct modern drainage systems to prevent flooding, build public toilets in markets and garages, and ensure every community has access to clean water. He promises to champion sustainable waste management and foster environmental awareness across all wards.

Empowerment of women and youth rounds off the RESHAPE agenda. The manifesto includes training programs in partnership with NGOs, skill acquisition in areas such as fisheries and livestock farming, and a local apprenticeship scheme with start-up support. Women and young people will also be given a voice in decision-making and equal access to enterprise and development initiatives.

As he approaches retirement from civil service in 2025 after 25 years of dedicated public duty, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon is not just asking for votes—he’s offering a future. A future built on experience, transparency, and a passion for people. With RESHAPE, he says, Olorunda LCDA can become a place of dignity, opportunity, and shared prosperity.

“Our mission is not about power; it’s about purpose,” Hon. Ajose said. “Together, we will reshape Olorunda into the community our people deserve.”
