As Badagry prepares to usher in a new administration, one name resonates powerfully among the locals, Chief (Mrs.) Elizabeth Hunpe, popularly known as Domofort. More than just the wife of the incoming chairman, she is a seasoned political figure whose rugged determination, grassroots engagement, and passion for community upliftment have distinguished her for decades.

A veteran of Badagry politics, Chief Hunpe first emerged as a Councillorship candidate under the PDP. Her transition to the Action Congress of Nigeria marked a turning point, as she was appointed Supervisor for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. During her tenure, she pioneered the establishment of the Badagry Local Government Skill Acquisition Centre in Ajara in partnership with the UNDP. This landmark project became a haven for young women struggling to pay exorbitant apprenticeship dues, empowering them with tools to build a sustainable future.

Beyond politics, Domofort is a revered grassroots mobilizer, respected philanthropist, and devout Christian. As a proud member of the ‘Iṣọkan Ẹmi Society’ of the Cathedral Church of St. Thomas, she remains committed to uplifting and supporting the women of Badagry, spiritually and socially.

Her anticipated role as the Chairperson of the Local Government promises to be the most dynamic and people-focused since the return to democracy in 1999. She brings not only administrative experience but also the warmth of a mother, the resilience of a fighter, and the humility of a true servant-leader. Unlike many political spouses who remain distant from the public, lavishing money in highbrow estates with zero knowledge of what the common people are facing, Mrs. Hunpe has always lived among her people, even during her husband's tenure as a Member of the National Assembly, she has remained accessible and grounded.

Chief (Mrs.) Elizabeth Hunpe is not just stepping into a ceremonial role; she is stepping forward as a partner in progress. Badagry is poised for a vibrant chapter under her maternal guidance and political sagacity.
