A serious accident occurred this morning near State High School along the busy Badagry-Lagos Expressway, causing panic among commuters and residents in the area.
Eyewitnesses say the crash involved a commercial motorcycle, commonly known as okada, which was reportedly moving against traffic. The rider, who had a passenger on board, collided head-on with an oncoming trailer, CityMood Badagry reporte
“There was a loud bang. The motorcycle was going in the wrong direction. Before anyone could react, it ran straight into the trailer,” said one eyewitness who rushed to the scene.
Fortunately, no lives were lost. However, both the rider and the passenger sustained injuries and were quickly attended to by sympathizers before emergency responders arrived.
The injured individuals have since been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities have yet to release their identities, but confirm that their injuries, though serious, are not life-threatening.
The incident has sparked renewed concerns over the growing menace of one-way driving along the expressway — a violation that has led to multiple accidents in recent months.
