RIKAY Marks 100 Days in Office With ₦30m Medical Equipment, Free Healthcare Outreach in Badagry West

Badagry West LCDA came alive today as the Executive Chairman, Hon Rauf Ibrahim Kayode Yemaren, popularly known as RIKAY, marked his first 100 days in office with a major health intervention worth thirty million naira.

The Chairman unveiled a fresh set of medical equipment purchased for the five Primary Health Centres across the council area. The new items, which cut across diagnostic tools, treatment devices, maternal and child health kits, and emergency response equipment, are designed to strengthen service delivery and expand access to quality healthcare for residents.

The ceremony also featured a free medical outreach that attracted residents from various communities. Beneficiaries received free consultations, eye screening, tuberculosis testing, blood pressure checks, essential drugs, health education and other forms of medical support.

Speaking during the event, the Medical Officer of Health, Dr Dorcas Oladunjoye, praised the initiative and described it as a timely intervention for underserved communities. She noted that the Chairman’s decision to prioritise healthcare in his first 100 days shows a clear commitment to the wellbeing of the people.

APC chieftain, Chief Frederick Ajaneson, also commended the Chairman’s leadership, describing it as proactive and people-centred. He said the health-focused kickoff sets the tone for an administration ready to deliver real value to its constituents.

In his address, Hon RIKAY thanked community leaders, health workers, teachers and residents for their support since he assumed office. He reiterated that his administration remains anchored on renewed hope, action and accountability, promising that more impactful programmes will follow.

He further announced that the 100 Days activities will continue on Friday, 5 December 2025, with a special outreach for widows and persons with disabilities. Items to be distributed include wheelchairs, walking aids, cash support and essential household supplies aimed at easing their daily challenges.

The event ended with residents expressing appreciation for the Chairman’s early strides and renewed confidence in the direction of the administration.
