The Tea Apparel Fashion Academy has officially commenced registration for the second season of its acclaimed fashion competition, Badagry Fastest Designer (BAFAD). The initiative, aimed at spotlighting the creativity and speed of local fashion designers, is returning after the resounding success of its maiden edition in 2024.
Organizers announced that registration for Season 2 is now open and completely free of charge. To enter, interested participants are required to send two of their fashion design pictures to WhatsApp number +234 812 671 1982. The deadline for submission is June 15, 2025.
Launched by Tea Apparel Fashion Academy, BAFAD has quickly become one of Badagry’s signature youth empowerment platforms, merging fashion, competition, and creativity. Last year’s competition, held at the Badagry Local Government Secretariat Chamber, drew young designers from across the region. Contestants were tasked with creating outfits on the spot within tight timeframes, with winners receiving sewing machines and fashion equipment to boost their careers.
Miss Oluwatumininu Anthony, Creative Director of Tea Apparel, has been at the forefront of driving excitement for the second season. “BAFAD Season 2 fashion competition, where fashion enthusiasts will sew on the spot, is super exciting!” she said in a recent social media post. “This unique format will challenge participants to showcase their creativity and skills under pressure.”
Anthony emphasized the live aspect of the competition as a core feature that will thrill both participants and spectators. “Designers will race against time, surrounded by fabric, threads, and sewing machines, bringing their unique perspectives to life.”
The event is expected to draw increased participation from across Lagos and neighboring regions, reinforcing Badagry’s rising reputation as a hub for emerging fashion talent. With registration now open, the countdown to one of Badagry’s most dynamic fashion contests has officially begun.
