In a show of unity and grassroots solidarity, factional leaders of the Sustainable Hope Agenda, SHA (formerly the Mandate Movement, believed to be godfathered by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu) in Olorunda LCDA paid a congratulatory visit to Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the upcoming chairmanship election in the area.
The delegation, led by their coordinator, Chief Sunday Ikufisile (popularly known as Big Chief), met with Kumayon on Thursday to formally endorse his candidacy. They also presented a letter of congratulations dated May 16, 2025, hailing his emergence as the party’s flag-bearer.
“Your victory is a testament to your unwavering dedication, commitment to grassroots development, and the trust reposed in you by the good people of our great party,” the letter stated.
Speaking during the visit, Kumayon expressed deep appreciation for the group’s support, describing it as a strong signal of the unity and cooperation that the party needs ahead of the polls. He commended the group for their consistency and pledged to run an inclusive administration if elected.
“Regardless of our different affiliations within the APC, I believe we can all work together for the greater good of Olorunda,” Kumayon said. “My goal is to build a team that reflects the strength and diversity of our party.”
He also used the opportunity to reaffirm his commitment to the broader vision of the APC, pledging to work tirelessly toward securing victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
The visit marks a significant step in rallying party support behind Kumayon’s candidacy, reinforcing hopes of a united front going into the local government polls.
