Bonu to Award Scholarships to 350 Students in Bonu-Sanwo-Tinubu Initiative to Mark Two Years in Office

As part of activities to commemorate his second anniversary in office, Hon. Bonu Solomon Saanu, Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Badagry Constituency I, has announced a scholarship award for over 350 students under the Bonu-Sanwo-Tinubu Bursary/Scholarship Scheme.

The lawmaker made the announcement in a heartfelt early morning post on his official Facebook page on Thursday, June 6, noting that the initiative is aimed at easing the financial burden on students and empowering young people through education.

"Dear Beloved Constituents of Badagry," his message began, “we are delighted to announce a significant milestone in our journey. In fulfillment of our commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders, we have carefully selected over 350 deserving students from Badagry who are currently enrolled in our esteemed state universities.”

These beneficiaries, Hon. Bonu said, will receive cash support to aid their academic pursuits, underlining his administration's continued investment in education as a tool for social transformation and youth empowerment.

Now in its fourth edition, the Bonu-Sanwo-Tinubu Bursary/Scholarship Scheme has become a beacon of hope for many students in the constituency, providing financial assistance to enable them to focus on their studies without the pressure of school-related expenses.

The latest round of scholarships coincides with a major personal milestone for the lawmaker—730 days in office. Reflecting on his two years of service, Hon. Bonu highlighted the progress made and reaffirmed his dedication to the people of Badagry.

“Over the past two years, we have worked diligently to serve the people of Badagry, listening to their concerns, addressing their needs, and advocating for their interests,” he wrote.

The bursary initiative, he explained, is just one of many efforts undertaken to uplift the constituency and secure a better future for its youth. “We believe that education is key to unlocking the potential of our youth and driving progress in our community. By supporting our students, we are investing in the future of Badagry and empowering them to become the leaders of tomorrow,” he said.

Hon. Bonu concluded his message with a note of gratitude to his constituents for their continued trust and support, pledging to remain steadfast in his commitment to building a stronger, more prosperous Badagry for all.

The scholarship awards are expected to be distributed in the coming days, as part of a series of events lined up to mark his two-year anniversary in office.
