As the countdown to the Lagos local government elections begins, the race for the chairmanship of the newly restructured Olorunwa Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has taken a notable turn with the unveiling of a robust and people-centered manifesto by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Superintendent Apostle Dr. Olubobola Moses Ajayi, popularly known as Arojah.
A seasoned political figure, respected grassroots mobilizer, and ordained clergy of the New Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Dr. Ajayi brings a unique blend of spiritual depth and civic experience to the contest. With over three decades of active service in Lagos State, he has pledged to lead with accountability, unity, and transformative development under the guiding theme: “Leadership That Listens, Development That Lasts.”
Born on March 6, 1967, Dr. Ajayi’s roots trace through the rich cultural tapestry of the Yoruba nation, particularly the Awori heritage of Badagry Division. Although his educational and spiritual journey spans several states, his political and community engagement has remained firmly anchored in Lagos.
A graduate of Ajoke High School in Badagry, he holds an associate degree in Criminology and Penology from the Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka Yaba, along with numerous professional certifications in Human Relations, Peacekeeping, Traffic Management, Security, and Operations.
Dr. Ajayi’s political involvement began as far back as 1993 with the Social Democratic Party (SDP), but he became fully aligned with the PDP in 1999, starting from Ojo Local Government. Since 2010, he has emerged as a key figure in Olorunda LCDA’s political landscape, currently undergoing restructuring into Olorunwa LCDA.
In 2023, he was appointed PDP Leader in Olorunda, serving during the general elections as the Polling Unit Agent for Unit 049, Ward E. He also chairs the Fix Nigeria Group (Lagos State Chapter), a platform championing national renewal and responsive governance.
A Vision for a Thriving, Inclusive Olorunwa
Unveiling his manifesto, Dr. Ajayi laid out a detailed agenda aimed at unlocking the full potential of Olorunwa LCDA. His five-point plan includes:
-
Empowering Local Economies
– Through skills acquisition, entrepreneurship support, and job creation initiatives. -
Accessible Education and Healthcare
– With focused investment in schools, clinics, and mobile healthcare services for underserved communities. -
Critical Infrastructure Development
– Targeting road networks, potable water access, and modern sanitation systems. -
Community Engagement and Participatory Governance
– Instituting open forums, feedback mechanisms, and inclusive policy-making. -
Security and Sustainable Growth
– Promoting environmental responsibility and enhancing neighborhood safety through collaborative efforts.
“This is not just a political ambition,” Dr. Ajayi said at the unveiling event, “this is a divine mission rooted in the shared dreams of our people. My goal is to lead a government that listens, empowers, and delivers lasting change.”
Clergy, Counselor, Community Builder
Outside the political arena, Arojah is known for his spiritual leadership and humanitarian efforts. As a Superintendent Apostle and Prophet, he has led youth mentorship programs, family counseling initiatives, and extensive support for widows, orphans, and vulnerable groups in Lagos. His inclusive leadership style has earned him admiration across religious and ethnic divides.
His dual identity as both a spiritual leader and public servant resonates with many in the Olorunwa community who see him as a steady, principled figure capable of uniting diverse interests under a progressive agenda.
A Call to Action
As the election approaches, Dr. Ajayi is rallying PDP faithful, traditional institutions, youth leaders, and residents to embrace a shared vision for development and accountability.
“Arojah ni jo, Arojah ni jare,” his supporters chant.
“Vote Arojah. Vote PDP. Vote Progress.”
In an election season often characterized by promises and posturing, Dr. Ajayi’s manifesto stands out for its clarity, community focus, and moral conviction—marking him as a serious contender for the soul and future of Olorunwa LCDA.
