Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has publicly denied accusations linking him to a ₦100 million bribe offer and the alleged abduction of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) President, Comrade Atiku Isah.

Isah, during a press conference held Wednesday in Abuja, claimed he was approached in Lagos by Seyi Tinubu and the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, with a ₦100 million offer to promote President Tinubu's image among Nigerian students. He said he rejected the offer, insisting he could not support a president who had failed to deliver on his campaign promises.

According to Isah, the fallout from his refusal turned violent. He alleged that on April 15, he was abducted by hoodlums, stripped naked, and brutally assaulted. “They told me nothing would happen if they released the video. Even if they killed me, Seyi Tinubu would order a cover-up,” Isah said. “But I made it clear that even if I were shot, I would still show up. I want Nigerians to know what happened—we will not back down.”

In his first public response, Seyi Tinubu addressed the allegations via his Instagram stories on Friday, categorically denying any involvement. He described the claims as completely false and a deliberate attempt to smear his name.

"Wow… how can someone lie with so much confidence?" Tinubu wrote. "An attempt to defame my character. May God be with you, Comrade Atiku Isah."

He further clarified: “I have never held any meeting to discuss any subject matter with Comrade Isah in Lagos or anywhere else in the world. I have never knowingly met him before, nor did I visit any location with thugs.”

Seyi Tinubu insisted the allegations were entirely fabricated, distancing himself from both the NANS president and the troubling events described.
