According to CityMood Badagry, “There is no issue between me and Chairman Onilude,” Layode said during a campaign event for chairmanship aspirant Hon. Hodewu Suru Avoseh. “I stood with him during his own election. Today, it is Avoseh’s turn, and I am fully behind him.”
Clarifying the basis of his support, Layode, who also serves as the Director-General of the Integrated Campaign Council (ICC) for the Avoseh campaign, said his endorsement of Avoseh aligns with the directives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Mandate Group—a major caucus within the party. According to him, the group’s leadership has advised key stakeholders in Badagry to back Avoseh in the interest of continuity and sustained development.
“Senior figures in the APC Mandate Group from the state level have reached out to us, urging leaders in Badagry to throw their weight behind Avoseh,” Layode disclosed.
The campaign event attracted a wide range of party loyalists, youth organizations, women groups, and community representatives from various wards. Addressing the crowd, Hon. Avoseh pledged to run a people-centered administration that would prioritize grassroots engagement and participatory governance.
“We’re building a government that listens to the people, learns from them, and leads with their interests at heart,” Avoseh stated. He also emphasized that his campaign has been driven by consultations aimed at identifying and addressing the unique needs of each ward within the council.
