Amid growing political debates surrounding the forthcoming Badagry Local Government (BLG) chairmanship race, Olamilekan Quadri, Media Assistant to Hon. Sesi Oluwaseun Whingan, Member of the House of Representatives for Badagry Federal Constituency, has stepped forward to set the record straight regarding the credentials of one of the leading aspirants, Alhaji Hassan Mihode Hammed (HMH).

In a strongly-worded Facebook post that quickly gained attention, Quadri dismissed insinuations from rival camps suggesting that Alhaji Hassan lacked a “second address” or viable professional track record outside politics.

“I won’t hold brief for any aspirant who may fall within the category of those without a ‘second address,’ but I will gladly speak for the candidate I have chosen to support — Alhaji Hassan Hammed,” Quadri wrote.

According to him, Alhaji Hassan is not only a seasoned electrical engineer but also a successful businessman with over two decades of practical experience in the electrical and electronics (Elect/Elect) industry. He noted that the chairmanship hopeful studied the discipline up to university level and further honed his craft through hands-on experience in real-world settings.

Quadri also addressed claims that Hassan has “nothing else he does,” stating that such claims are baseless and easily disprovable. He pointed to the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) registration of Hassan’s company as proof of his entrepreneurial legitimacy.

Highlighting some of Hassan's major projects, Quadri revealed that the engineer had successfully wired an FMCB building and worked on LagosHOMS projects. He also served as a consultant to the Surveyor General of Lagos State during the second term of former Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola. Beyond Lagos, he has been involved in several estate developments requiring high-level technical expertise and financial management.

“In this light, it’s important to note that having a ‘second address’ isn’t limited to political or administrative appointments — it also includes managing other people’s funds and successfully delivering assigned responsibilities,” Quadri emphasized.

He challenged other contenders to come forward with records of how they have managed funds or executed projects at a similar scale, adding that very few among the current aspirants can match Hassan's track record in both the private and public sectors.

“If you would like to review his company profile, feel free to reach out to me directly,” Quadri offered, signaling confidence in the transparency and capability of the candidate.

As the race heats up, the remarks by Olamilekan Quadri are likely to fuel further discussion among supporters and critics alike, setting the tone for a contest where competence and accountability may take center stage.
